  • COMMONWEALTH play-in games will be on Wednesday and Semifinal rounds move to Friday with finals taking place on Sunday, November 4.

Updated Monday, October 29 at 1:00 AM

Revised championship schedules have been posted due to Hurricane Sandy and school cancellations. Commonwealth play-in semifinals will take place on Wednesday, semifinals on Friday, and final games on Sunday. Any Freedom games scheduled for Tuesday have been pushed to Wednesday and final games remain scheduled for Saturday. Refer to each sport championship page for the most up-to-date information.

With the impending storm, the following parameters will be employed in regards to MAC Championships:
  1. The safety of participants is paramount
  2. If a school is closed or cancels classes, their teams cannot compete
  3. Competitions will be conducted in favorable (not necessarily perfect) conditions - in the rain, but not with excessive wind; taking game off-campus to turf field, etc.
  4. Maintain the same schedule sequence in each championship (two teams would not have two days off and the other two only one). For Commonwealth: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday; or, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.
  5. If at all possible, we will maintain a day between each round of competition. If we cannot maintain two days between a round in the Commonwealth, the #4 vs. #5 game would play back-to-back days with the Semi-finals.

In consideration of these principles:
  • We will postpone the three Monday contests - women's soccer at Lebanon Valley, field hockey at Arcadia, and volleyball at Widener.
  • We will make a decision on Tuesday games on Monday, although, it seems likely that they will need to be postponed.
