Help us select the top MAC athletes of all time.
The voting portal for the MAC 100 Fall Sports Century Teams has officially opened on the MAC website. Each MAC 100 Century Team will recognize the top student-athletes in each sport from different eras of the conference history.
VOTING PROCESS
The general public will have unlimited opportunities to vote and help us select the greatest MAC fall sport athletes of all time until
11:59 pm on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8, when voting will close. Teams will be announced shortly after voting has closed.
ERAS OF MAC HISTORY
The history of the conference is broken into three distinct time periods:
(I) 1912 to 1972-73 -- the formation of the conference until 10 larger schools broke off to form the East Coast Conference. Before the split, conference play was split between "University" and "College" divisions.
(II) 1973-74 to 1992-93 -- the conference was generally split into four sub-conferences (Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Southeast) until a group of schools left in 1992-93 to form the Centennial Conference.
(III) 1993-94 to Today -- the modern time period of the conference, operating in an umbrella format under the Freedom, Commonwealth, and Middle Atlantic Conferences.
Each sport has been divided with these time periods and where large sport sponsorship allows more sub-groups. A standard team size will be elected from each era. For example, five eras have been delineated for Men's Soccer, therefore, 11 players from each era will be elected to the MAC 100 Century Team.
