DALLAS, Pa. (Cross Country) – The 2015 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Letterkenny Fields in Dallas, Pa. Misericordia University is serving as host for this year’s event.
The championship event will begin with the women’s 6,000-meter race at 11 a.m. The men’s 8,000-meter race will follow at 12 p.m. The awards ceremony is set for approximately 1:15 p.m. or 30 minutes after men’s results become official.
Admission to the 2015 MAC Cross Country Championships is free. There will be short ($12) and long-sleeved ($15) white championship t-shirts for sale on location while supplies last. Directions, parking and course maps are available at the

championship central page after the conclusion of the championship.
For the first time since 2004, Arcadia is fielding men’s and women’s cross country teams. The MAC now has all 17 institutions competing for the men’s and women’s cross country conference titles, including Albright, Alvernia, Arcadia, Delaware Valley, DeSales, Eastern, Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham, Hood, King’s, Lebanon Valley, Lycoming, Manhattanville, Messiah, Misericordia, Stevenson, Widener and Wilkes.
Widener has won the last two men’s team championships and individual titles. The Pride have five all-time MAC Men’s Cross Country titles, and a conference-best 14 individual men’s titles. Returning individual champion Ernie Pitone enters his junior year with already achieving MAC Runner of the Year accolades with a first-place finish in 2014, and MAC Rookie of the Year honors with a second-place finish in 2013.
The men’s race will have six of the 2014 top-10 finishers returning to this year’s championship including 1. Pitone, 4. Will McDermott (Widener), 6. Jared Schatz (Messiah), 7. Mikael Hause (Misericordia), 9. Mike Bilotta (Widener) and 10. Stephen Fortin (Widener). The 2014 MAC Rookie of the Year Ben Seigel of King’s finished in 18th-place.
Misericordia looks to repeat as MAC Women’s Cross Country Champions after claiming its first title in 2014. Prior to the Cougars winning, former MAC member Elizabethtown College won seven-straight women’s titles. The 2014 women’s individual champion Josey Rupert from Eastern graduated last year after becoming the first individual champion for Eastern since joining the conference in 2008. Lebanon Valley’s Kelsey Patrick returns for her final season after finishing runner-up in 2014. Patrick won both the 2013 and 2012 individual titles to earn the 2012 and 2013 MAC Runner of the Year awards. Patrick also claimed the 2012 MAC Rookie of the Year award as a freshman.

Marissa Durako (King’s, 6. Bethany Killmon (Misericordia), 7. Adrenne Borrelli (Eastern), 9. Andrea Stevko (Alvernia) and 10. Amy Viti (Misericordia). Wheeler was the 2014 MAC Rookie of the Year.
