Conference Field Hockey Championships Set to Begin Nov. 4

Messiah (MAC Commonwealth) and Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (MAC Freedom) earn top seeds

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Field Hockey) –
The 2015 MAC Commonwealth Field Hockey Championship and the 2015 MAC Freedom Field Hockey Championship fields have been solidified with the conclusion of conference play on Tuesday evening. The Messiah Falcons earned the top seed in the MAC Commonwealth, while the Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham Devils earned the top spot in the MAC Freedom. Semifinal round action will get underway on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
 
Admission to the games is set for $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six-years-old are free. Long-sleeved championship t-shirts will also be on sale at the gate for $15. Visit the championship central page for live coverage, results and recaps.
 

MAC COMMONWEALTH CHAMPIONSHIP
 
Messiah (12-5, 7-0 MAC Commonwealth) will host fourth-seeded Albright (11-7, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The Falcons defeated the Lions 3-0 on the road on Oct. 23. Messiah has won 10 of its last 11 games, with its only loss in that span coming to Division II No. 4 Shippensburg in overtime. Albright defeated Alvernia on Tuesday by a score of 2-1 to clinch the final spot in the championship.
 
Stevenson (11-8, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth) earned the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship and will host third-seeded Lebanon Valley (10-7, 5-2 MAC Commonwealth) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The Mustangs defeated the Dutchmen, 2-1, on Tuesday at home to earn the tiebreaker for the No. 2 seed. Stevenson has won seven of its last eight games, while Lebanon Valley has won seven of its last night games.
 
The MAC Commonwealth semifinal-round winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 7. The highest seed remaining will host the title game.

Semifinal Round – Wednesday, Nov. 4
No. 4 Albright at No. 1 Messiah, 7 p.m.
No. 3 Lebanon Valley at No. 2 Stevenson, 7 p.m.
 
Championship Game – Saturday, Nov. 7

MAC FREEDOM CHAMPIONSHIP
 
FDU-Florham (13-5, 6-1 MAC Freedom) will host fourth-seeded Wilkes (9-9, 4-3 MAC Freedom) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. It is the second-straight year the Devils and Colonels will battle in the conference semifinal round. FDU-Florham defeated Wilkes by a score of 4-2 on Oct. 10. The Devils are on a four-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games. FDU-Florham’s 3-1 win over Eastern on Oct. 21 gave them the tiebreaker for the top-seed. The Colonels defeated King’s, 2-1, on Oct. 24, which turned out to give them the tiebreaker over the Monarchs for the No. 4 seed.
 
Eastern (12-4, 5-2 MAC Freedom) earned the No. 2 seed in the MAC Freedom Championship and will host third-seeded Misericordia (8-9, 5-2 MAC Freedom) at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The Eagles defeated the Cougars by a score of 1-0 on the road on Oct. 3. Eastern has won four its last six games, while Misericordia has won six-straight games to make the postseason after being on a nine-game skid.
 
The MAC Freedom semifinal-round winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 7. The highest seed remaining will host the title game.

Semifinal Round – Wednesday, Nov. 4
No. 4 Wilkes at No. 1 Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham, 7 p.m.
No. 3 Misericordia at No. 2 Eastern, 2:30 p.m.
 
Championship Game – Saturday, Nov. 7
