MEN’S BASKETBALL
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Andy Orr (Lebanon Valley / So., F / Wernersville, Pa.) opened the season with a pair of 20-point performances, including a double-double in the season-opening win against Roanoke. The sophomore scored 24 points and pulled down 12 boards in the 101-98 win. In the PSU Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament Championship Game, Orr scored 20 points and collected seven rebounds in a 61-60 loss. He was named to the all-tournament team.
MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Anthony Maestre (Manhattanville / Sr., G / Bronx, N.Y.) was named to the F&M Tip-off Tournament after averaging 23 points, 4.5 rebounds and three steals over two games. Maestre scored 17 points with four boards, two steals and two assists in the opening setback to SUNY Oneonta. The senior then responded with 29 points, five rebounds, four steals and an assists in an 89-83 win over Elizabethtown in the consolation game.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Alecia Rohrer (Messiah / Fr., F / Manheim, Pa.) recorded back-to-back double-doubles to begin her collegiate career. Rohrer scored 20 points and pulled down 11 boards in an overtime loss to Susquehanna. The freshman shot 9-of-11 from the field, and added two steals. Rohrer then scored 16 points, collected 10 rebounds and two blocks in a win over Lehman. She shot 78 percent from the field with 32 points and 21 rebounds in her first two games.
MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Shalette Brown (FDU-Florham / Sr., F / Somerset, N.J.) led the No. 9 Devils to the Dan Greene Memorial Invitational title. Brown was also named the Most Outstanding Player at the invitational. The senior averaged a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds over two games. In the win over York (N.Y.), Brown was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She followed that performance with 10 points and 11 rebounds in a 99-55 rout of St. Mary’s (Md.) to claim the title. She finished the tournament with six steals and three assists.
SWIMMING
MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Grant Fisher (Arcadia / Fr. / Ardmore, Pa.) recorded three individual first-place finishes to lead the Knights to a 139-42 win over Wilkes. Fisher won three freestyle events including the 100-yard (51.83 seconds), 500-yard (5:11.84) and 1,000-yard (10:31.81). The freshman helped improve Arcadia’s record to 5-1 overall—5-0 at home this season.
MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Erica Wise (Lebanon Valley / Fr. / York, Pa.) claimed three victories on Saturday in a tri-meet with Albright and King’s. The freshman set a new LVC record in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:03.44 to beat the previous record by .24 seconds. She won the 50-yard freestyle over Albright’s Christine Allison by more than a second, touching the wall in 25.49 seconds. That time was .11 seconds off Jan Ikeda’s program record time. Wise joined Ikeda, Kyra Valent and Leslie Hiller to win the 200-yard freestyle relay, anchoring the team with a 25.09 second leg.
WRESTLING
MAC Wrestler of the Week
Zach Roseberry (Delaware Valley / Jr. / Nokesville, Va.) captured the heavyweight title to lead seven place winners for Delaware Valley at the Ursinus Fall Brawl. After a first round bye, Roseberry won four-straight matches to claim the title. The junior has one pin, one major decision and two decisions, including a 6-1 win over Ursinus’ Matan Peleg in the final. More impressively, Roseberry pinned Joshua Travers of Division I Liberty University in a time of 2:06.
