Eastern Wins First-Ever MAC Freedom Men’s Soccer Title

The Eagles’ Jacob Myers named MAC Freedom Championship MVP

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Men’s Soccer) –
The third-seeded Eastern Eagles avenged their first loss of the regular-season against King’s on Saturday night. The Eagles defeated the top-seeded Monarchs 2-0 for their first-ever MAC Freedom Men’s Soccer Championship.
 
Eastern (16-2-2) got on the board first when freshman Jacob Myers headed in a cross from Jadon Ramsing to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
 
Ramsing found the back of the net five minutes later for an unassisted goal and a 2-0 lead.
 
King’s (16-4-1) was able to record eight shots, but none were on goal. The Eagles recorded 10 shots, five on goal.
 
Eastern’s Myers was named the MAC Freedom Championship MVP after recording the game-winning goal.
 
Eastern earns the MAC Freedom’s automatic qualifier (AQ) to the NCAA Division III Championship. The field will be announced on Monday, Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at www.NCAA.com.
