ANNVILLE, Pa. (Softball) – The 2015 All-Commonwealth Conference Softball Team has been announced. Alvernia’s Brianna DePriest was named Commonwealth Player of the Year. Messiah’s Claressa Mees was named Commonwealth Pitcher of the Year, while the Falcons’ Carrie Fix was named the Commonwealth Rookie of the Year. Messiah’s Amy Weaver was named Commonwealth Coach of the Year.
Joining DePriest (Infield) and Mees (pitcher) on the All-Commonwealth First Team were: pitcher Alexis Schengrund (Widener); catcher Becky Notte (Messiah); infielders Stephanie Ayers (Stevenson), Amanda Jones (Messiah), and Ally Shiling (Alvernia); outfielders Courtney Allen (Messiah), Sammy Bost (Lebanon Valley) and Tessa Deardorff (Lebanon Valley); utility player Kaitlyn Seger (Stevenson) and designated player Ally Horvath (Widener).
Joining Fix (utility) on the All-Commonwealth Second Team were: pitchers Sammi O’Connor (Albright) and Jasmyn Ogletree (Stevenson); catcher Courtney Cook (Stevenson); infielders Alie Alkins (Widener), Carissa Harris (Widener), Kristen Mueller (Stevenson) and Brooke Pompeo (Messiah); outfielders Nicole Blantz (Messiah), Kristy Erfurdt (Hood), Nicole Larro (Arcadia) and Nikki Marianelli (Lycoming) and designated player Jessica Shotwell (Arcadia).
There were 12 players named All-Commonwealth Honorable Mention, including Sarah Boyadjis (Arcadia), Taylor Church (Widener), Taylor Fouracre (Alvernia), Ashley Fourcade (Hood), Sabrina Gordon (Stevenson), Shannon Grim (Alvernia), Molly Hoyt (Stevenson), Emily Johnson (Lebanon Valley), Armida Roman (Albright), Heather Secord (Lycoming), Katie Tankred (Messiah) and Kristi Weaver (Lycoming).
