ANNVILLE, Pa. (Softball) – The 2015 All-Freedom Conference Softball Team has been announced. Eastern’s Erica Pyla-Gibson was named Freedom Player of the Year, while the Eagels’ Haleigh Williams was named Freedom Pitcher of the Year. Manhattanville’s Alexis Ventarola was named Freedom Rookie of the Year. Eastern’s Brittany Stroop was named Freedom Coach of the Year.
Joining Pyla-Gibson (outfield), Ventarola (infield) and Williams (pitcher) on the All-Freedom First Team were: pitcher Alissa Steier (Misericordia); catcher Megan Hardy (Misericordia); infielders Nikki Caruso (FDU-Florham), Shelbee Damianos (Manhattanville) and Amy Kowalczyk (King’s); outfielders Carly Bartholomew (DeSales) and Debra Renner (King’s); utility player DJ McCauley (DeSales) and designated player Emily McGrath (Wilkes).
Named to the All-Freedom Second Team were: pitchers Andrea Artesani (DeSales) and Allison Herbert (King’s); catcher Karlee Kerchersky (Eastern); infielders Whitney Ellenberg (Misericordia), Alex Hoops (Wilkes), Melanie Quintanilla (Misericordia) and Kasey Williams (Eastern); outfielders Alex Beaumont (DeSales), Marlena Bevilacqua (FDU-Florham) and Paige Lillie (FDU-Florham); and utility player Taylor Torre (FDU-Florham).
There were four players named All-Freedom Honorable Mention, including Samantha Bloom (King’s), Rosaria Callara (Manhattanville), Sam Hare (Misericorida) and Wynne McCann (FDU-Florham).
