2015 Schedule

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Football) – The Widener Pride were selected as the favorite in 2015 in a preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) coaches. The Pride were a unanimous pick by the opposing conference coaches receiving 81 points and nine first-place votes.

The Pride, who won their 20th conference title and made their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014, return five all-conference selections including junior quarterback Seth Klein. Widener head coach Mike Kelly was also named the 2014 MAC Coach of the Year in his first season. The Pride advanced to the NCAA Division III quarterfinal round in 2014 before falling to Linfield at home.

Delaware Valley received 67 points to be ranked second in the poll. The Aggies finished second in the final 2014 standings with its lone conference loss coming in the regular-season finale to Widener. Delaware Valley went on to play in the NCAA Tournament.

Lycoming received 62 points, Albright received 58 points and Stevenson received 56 points to round out the preseason poll’s top-five.

The rest of the poll, in respective order, included Lebanon Valley (39 points), King’s (32 points), Wilkes (29 points), Misericordia (16 points) and Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (10 points).

Widener was ranked No. 12 in the D3football.com preseason poll in July, while Delaware Valley and Lycoming each received votes.
