ANNVILLE, Pa. (Men’s Basketball) – The 2015-16 MAC Commonwealth and MAC Freedom Men’s Basketball Tournament fields have been solidified with the conclusion of conference play on Saturday. The Alvernia Crusaders earned the top seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament, while the DeSales Bulldogs earned the top spot in the MAC Freedom Tournament. Action will get underway on Monday, Feb. 22.
MAC COMMONWEALTH TOURNAMENT
Alvernia (15-10, 11-5 Commonwealth) will host the winner the No. 4 seed/No. 5 seed game on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. Stevenson (11-14, 9-7 MAC Commonwealth) earned the fourth seed and will host fifth-seeded Lycoming (16-9, 8-8 MAC Commonwealth) on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the play-in game. The Mustangs and Warriors split the season-series with both teams winning at home. Lycoming won the first matchup by a score of 78-66, while Stevenson won the recent game by a score of 73-68.
Lebanon Valley (16-9, 10-6 MAC Commonwealth) earned the No. 2 seed and will host third-seeded Arcadia (16-9, 9-7 MAC Commonwealth) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24 in the semifinal round. The Dutchmen swept the season-series against the Knights. Lebanon Valley won the first meeting on the road by a score of 83-74. In the most recent game, the Dutchmen won at home by a score of 93-75.
The MAC Commonwealth semifinal round winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 27. The highest seed remaining will host the title game.
MAC FREEDOM TOURNAMENT
DeSales (19-6, 11-3 MAC Freedom) will host fourth-seeded Wilkes (13-12, 8-6 Freedom) at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The Bulldogs swept the season-series against the Colonels. DeSales won the first meeting at home by one point, 73-72. The Bulldogs won the second matchup on Feb. 10 by a score of 76-67 on the road.
Misericordia (15-10, 9-5 MAC Freedom) earned the No. 2 seed and will host third-seeded Delaware Valley (18-7, 9-5 Freedom) on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the semifinal round. The Cougars and Aggies split the season-series with each team winning on the road. Delaware Valley one the first matchup in Dallas by a score of 74-70. Misericordia won the second game on Feb. 10 by a score of 79-78.
The MAC Freedom semifinal round winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 27. The highest seed remaining will host the title game.
Admission to the games is set for $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six-years-old are free.
