ANNVILLE, Pa. (Women’s Basketball) – The 2015-16 MAC Commonwealth and MAC Freedom Tournament fields have been solidified with the conclusion of conference play on Saturday. The Albright Lions earned the top-seed in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament, while the DeSales Bulldogs earned the top spot in the MAC Freedom Tournament. Action will get underway on Monday, Feb. 22.
MAC COMMONWEALTH TOURNAMENT
Albright (23-2, 15-1 MAC Commonwealth) will host the winner of the No. 4 seed/ No. 5 seed game on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. Lebanon Valley (16-9, 10-6 MAC Commonwealth) earned the fourth seed and will host fifth-seeded Lycoming (14-11, 9-7 MAC Commonwealth) on Monday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the play-in game. The Warriors swept the season-series against the Dutchmen, including a victory in Annville on Saturday in the regular-season finale by a score of 77-68. Lycoming won the first game, 63-60, at home.
Messiah (18-7, 12-4 MAC Commonwealth) earned the No. 2 seed and will host third-seeded Stevenson (14-9, 11-5 MAC Commonwealth) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24 in the semifinal round. The Mustangs swept the season-series against the Falcons. Stevenson won the first matchup at home by a score of 63-49, and then the Mustangs won in Grantham by a score of 60-46 on Jan. 28.
The MAC Commonwealth semifinal round winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 27. The highest seed remaining will host the title game.
MAC FREEDOM TOURNAMENT
DeSales (19-6, 12-2 MAC Freedom) will host fourth-seeded Manhattanville (18-7, 9-5 MAC Freedom) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The Bulldogs swept the season-series against the Valiants. DeSales won the first game at home by a score of 70-57, and then the Bulldogs won on the road this past Wednesday by a score of 82-72.
FDU-Florham (19-6, 11-3 MAC Freedom) earned the No. 2 seed and will host third-seeded Delaware Valley (13-12, 9-5 MAC Freedom) on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the semifinal round. The Devils swept the season-series against the Aggies. FDU-Florham won the first matchup at home by a score of 67-58. The Devils then defeated Delaware Valley on Saturday in the regular-season finale on the road by a score of 80-56 to earn home court advantaged in the conference semifinal round.
The MAC Freedom semifinal round winners will advance to the championship game on Saturday, Feb. 27. The highest seed remaining will host the title game.
Admission to the games is set for $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six-years-old are free.
