MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships Set for Feb. 26-27

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Indoor Track & Field) –
The 2016 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for Friday, Feb. 26 through Saturday, Feb. 27 at Lehigh University’s Rauch Field House.

A total of 26 squads from 13 institutions will be competing at the championships, including the men’s and women’s teams from Albright, Alvernia, Delaware Valley, DeSales, Eastern, Hood, King’s, Lebanon Valley, Manhattanville, Messiah, Misericordia, Stevenson and Widener.
 
Both Eastern University and King’s College are competing in their inaugural seasons of track & field. This is their first time competing for a conference title in the sport.
 
Heading into the championships, the Widener men are ranked No. 11 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Top-25.
 
In the men’s Mideast Region poll, there are three MAC teams ranked including: No. 1 Widener, No. 9 Messiah and No. 10 Lebanon Valley. In the women’s Mideast Region poll there are also three teams ranked including: No. 2 Misericordia, No. 5 Lebanon Valley and No. 7 Messiah.
 
Widener has won the last six men’s titles to lead conference with 14 all-time titles, while Misericordia captured its first-ever women’s conference title a season ago.
 
There are a total of 18 returning individual conference champions from last year’s meet, including 11 women and seven men.

More impressively, the MAC currently has 10 national top-10 marks and times heading into this year’s championship.
