CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (Women’s Basketball) – The second-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham Devils defeated the top-seeded DeSales Bulldogs, 69-44, to claim their fourth-straight and fourth overall MAC Freedom title. The Devils punched their ticket to the NCAA Division III Championship.
FDU-Florham (21-6) led DeSales (20-7) at the half by a score of 28-21. Then the Devils pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 41-23 for the 69-44 victory.
The Devils’ Shalette Brown recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 21 rebounds, including 14 on the defensive side. Danielle Leguillou scored a game-high 17 points. Rachel Groom (14 points) and Raven Dowling (11 points) were also in double figures for the Devils.
Brown was named the 2015-16 MAC Freedom Championship Most Valuable Player.
