HERSHEY, Pa. (Men’s Golf) – The Manhattanville Valiants claimed their fourth MAC Freedom men’s golf title, first since they won three-straight from 2010-12, on Sunday at the Hershey Country Club. King’s Corey Palma won the conference individual title and was named MAC Freedom Golfer of the Year.
Manhattanville’s Arlen Marshall was named the MAC Freedom Coach of the Year. Misericordia’s Tyler McGarry, Eastern’s Matt Cocorikis and Manhattanville’s Bryan Platt were named MAC Freedom Rookies of the Year.
Manhattanville finished with a two-round score of 651 (331-320). The Valiants were positioned in second after the first day behind Eastern. The Eagles finished runner-up as a team with a total score of 654 (318-336). FDU-Florham (658) and King’s (658) tied for second, while DeSales (664) and Misericordia (664) finished tied for fifth. Delaware Valley took seventh (689) and Wilkes finished in eighth with a score of 692.
Palma won the individual title with a two-round score of 157 (+15) by two strokes over DeSales’ Dan McDonald (159) and Misericordia’s McGarry (159). Eastern’s Cocorikis (160) and Manhattanville’s Platt (160) finished tied for fourth. They were all named to the All-MAC Freedom First Team.
Manhattanville’s John Maiolo (162) took sixth place for All-MAC Freedom Second Team honors. Joining Maiolo on the all-conference second team were Eastern’s Ryan Torresin (163) and Sal Tortora (163), Wilkes’ Alex Anderson (164), DeSales’ Schuyler Hart (164), FDU-Florham’s Mike Lieberman (164), Misericoria’s Zach Mulhern (164), Manhattanville’s Joseph Mullarkey (164) and King’s Ryan Tracy (164).
