MAC Football Players of the Week Announced (Sept. 3, 2017)
ANNVILLE, Pa. (Football) – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its football weekly award recipients for the week ending Sept. 2, 2017.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jagger Green (FDU-Florham / Jr., QB / Sicklerville, N.J.) had a record setting day in the Devils’ 38-24 season-opening win over The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Green threw for a school-record 593 yards, shattering the previous record of 405 yards. The junior’s single-game passing yards currently ranks No. 1 across all four levels of NCAA football through the first week of the season. Green completed 40-of-58 (69%) passes with a career-high five touchdowns. His game-long 88-yard touchdown pass to Mike Panzarino broke a 24-24 tie late in the third quarter.
Defensive Player of the Week
Nick Wright (Delaware Valley / Sr., LB / Hatfield, Pa.) led the No. 20 Aggies defense to a 24-19 upset victory over No. 11 Wesley at home. Wright recorded 10 tackles (seven solo), two sacks, a forced fumble, a safety and a fumble recovery that he returned 70 yards for a touchdown. The score came in the second quarter with Delaware Valley leading 10-3. The senior forced the safety in the fourth quarter to give the Aggies a 24-12 lead.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Mike Tumminello (King’s / Sr., K / Belcamp, Md.) had a perfect day on field goals and extra points in the Monarchs’ 30-27 win over Moravian. Tumminello made all three points-after-touchdown (PATs) as well as all three field goals. His third field goal came with just 1:37 left in regulation with the game tied at 27-27. Tumminello drilled the field goal from 38-yards out for the game-winner. The senior’s first field goal from 36-yards came in the third quarter to give King’s a 17-14 lead. He then kicked 27-yard field goal for a 27-20 lead with under seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.

2017 THIRD ANNUAL CENTENNIAL-MAC BOWL SERIES
The Centennial Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced on Nov. 5, 2015 their partnership to hold two postseason football games between member institutions. The Centennial-MAC Bowl Series involves the top two teams from each conference that are not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship.
The top team from each conference that is not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship will host the second best team from the opposing conference not moving on to NCAAs in one game of the series. This season, 2017, the bowl games are scheduled for Saturday, November 18. The MAC has won all four of the bowl series games through the first two years.
