Manhattanville Claims Third-Straight MAC Freedom Men’s Golf Title

HERSHEY, Pa. (Men’s Golf) –
The Manhattanville Valiants won their third-straight MAC Freedom Men’s Golf Title on Sunday at Hershey Country Club. The Valiants senior Chandler Longfellow also captured his second-straight individual title.
 
Manhattanville shot a 328 as a team on day two for a two-day score of 662 (+94) to edge out King’s (665). The Valiants were tied in second-place after day one. Eastern finished in third (672), FDU-Florham (675) took fourth and DeSales (682) rounded out the top-five. Wilkes (737), Delaware Valley (748) and Misericordia (749) also earned team scores.

The Valiants have now won three-straight men’s golf titles and six overall.

Longfellow claimed his second-straight title on Sunday with a two-day score of 157 (+15). His second-day 75 was the championship single-round low. He was named the 2018 Sorrentino MAC Freedom Men’s Golfer of the Year and to the All-MAC Freedom First Team.

Also earning All-MAC Freedom First Team honors were King’s Ryan Georgetti (161), DeSales’ Schuyler Hart (162), King’s Ryan Crossin (163), FDU-Florham’s Bobby Greer III (163) and DeSales’ Ryan Gutshall (163).

FDU-Florham’s Bobby Greer was named the 2018 MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year.

A total of four golfers were named to the All-MAC Freedom Second Team, including Manhattanville’s Rob Andrews (164), Eastern’s Nicky Marrollo (166) and Colin Burden (167), and FDU-Florham’s Brendan Demitus.

Manhattanville head coach Arlen Marshall was named the 2018 MAC Freedom Men’s Golf Coach of the Year.
