Alvernia’s Keith Noonan and Hood’s Andy Baker claimed their program’s first-ever MAC Commonwealth individual title

HERSHEY, Pa. (Men’s Golf) – The Stevenson Mustangs won their third-straight MAC Commonwealth Men’s Golf Title on Sunday at Hershey Country Club. Alvernia’s Keith Noonan and Hood’s Andy Baker both finished with a 157 to share the individual title.
Stevenson recorded a 328 on day two to earn a two-day score of 640 (+72) to beat Lebanon Valley (646) by six strokes. The Dutchmen also shot a 328 on day two, but the Mustang’s day one lead held strong. Albright (663) took third, Alvernia (669) finished fourth and Hood (678) rounded out the top-five. Messiah (695), Widener (701), Arcadia (737) and Lycoming (842) all recorded team scores.
The Mustangs have now won three-straight men’s golf titles and four overall.
Noonan claimed the Golden Wolves’ first-ever MAC Commonwealth individual title with a two-day score of 157 (76-81). Baker claimed the Blazers’ first-ever MAC Commonwealth individual title with a tow-day score of 157 (74-83). They were both named the 2018 Sorrentino MAC Commonwealth Men’s Golfer of the Year and to the All-MAC Commonwealth First Team.
Also earning All-MAC Commonwealth First Team honors were Arcadia’s Kyle Henofer (159), Lebanon Valley’s David Herbst (159) and Stevenson’s Josh Maisel (159) and Matthew Shur (159).
A total of four golfers were named All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team, including Stevenson’s Tyler Slusarczyk (160), Albright’s Ben Forman (161), Lebanon Valley’s Grant Leonard (161) and Alvernia’s Joe Polidoro (161).
Alvernia’s Joe Polidoro was named the 2018 MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year.
Stevenson head coach Chris Ramer was named the 2018 MAC Commonwealth Men’s Golf Coach of the Year.
