2018 Schedule
ANNVILLE, Pa. (Women’s Soccer) – The Misericordia Cougars were selected as the favorite in the 2018 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) women’s soccer coaches. The Cougars collected six of the eight first-place votes for a total of 48 points.
Wilkes received 40 points and two first-place votes to be positioned second. DeSales earned 37 points to rank third. Eastern earned 28 points and FDU-Florham collected 26 points to round out the top-5 in the preseason poll.
The rest of the poll in respective order includes King’s (24 points), Delaware Valley (12 points) and Manhattanville (9 points).
Misericordia defeated Wilkes, 1-0, in double overtime in the 2017 MAC Freedom title match to claim its second-straight championship. Both the Cougars and the Colonels advanced to the NCAA Championship. Misericordia defeated Hamilton, 1-0, and Wilkes defeated Connecticut College, 1-0, in the first round. Both teams ended their seasons in the second round.
Joining Misericordia (2) and Wilkes (1) at the 2017 conference championship were DeSales (3) and Eastern (4).
FDU-Florham earned a berth to the 2017 ECAC Division III Championship after the conclusion of the conference championship. The Devils defeated Widener, 2-1, in the first round, but fell to NYU in the quarterfinal round.
Misericordia was ranked No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Preseason Poll.
