2018 Schedule

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Men’s Soccer) – The Messiah Falcons were selected as the favorite in the 2018 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men’s soccer coaches. The Falcons collected all eight first-place votes from opposing coaches for a total of 64 points.
 
Lycoming collected 55 points to be positioned second, and Lebanon Valley received 50 points for third. Alvernia picked up 44 points and Arcadia earned 35 points to round out the top-5 in the preseason poll.
 
The rest of the poll in respective order includes Hood (29 points), Stevenson (22 points), Widener (16 points) and Albright (9 points).
 
Lycoming defeated Messiah, 2-1, in the 2017 MAC Commonwealth title match for its third championship in five years. The Warriors and Falcons both advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship. Lycoming went 1-1 with a win over Lehman before falling to Drew.

Messiah ran through the tournament to claim its 11th national title in men’s soccer, all coming since 2000. The Falcons defeated Castleton, Hobart, Stevens, Rochester, Brandeis and then North Park in route to the championship.
 
Joining Lycoming (2) and Messiah (1) at the 2016 conference championship were Lebanon Valley (3), Arcadia (4) and Alvernia (5).
 
Lebanon Valley, Arcadia and Alvernia all earned berths to the 2017 ECAC Division III Championship after the conference championship. For the second-straight year, the Dutchmen claimed the ECAC Championship. Lebanon Valley defeated John Jay, McDaniel, Grove City and Rutgers-Camden on its way to the title. Alvernia fell to McDaniel in round one. Arcadia went 1-1 with a win over Neumann.
 
Messiah was ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Preseason Poll in early August.
