DAY ONE: MAC Swimming Championship Results

Albright men won the 200-yard medley relay with a new MAC overall and championship record time

YORK, Pa. (Swimming) –
The first day of the 2019 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships were completed on Thursday at the Graham Aquatic Center.
 
Through two events, the Messiah Falcons lead the women’s standings with 74 points. Stevenson is position second with 64 points. Four teams are currently tied for third with 58 points, including Arcadia, King’s, Misericordia and Widener.
 
Albright leads the men’s standings with 74 points. Arcadia sits second with 72 points, and King’s is in third with 62 points. Messiah (58 points) and Widener (56 points) round out the top-five.

200-YARD MEDLEY RELAY
Women
Stevenson’s Colby Stein, Jules Burnett, Izzy Ramsland and Melanie Milam won gold with a time of 1:47.11 for their first MAC gold in the event for the program. Messiah took silver with a time of 1:48.09, and King’s claimed bronze with a time of 1:48.67.
 
Men
Albright’s Joseph Guiliano, Tyler Chamberlin, Bryce Schaffer and Hunter Page captured gold with a new MAC Championship and overall MAC record time of 1:32.93. The original record of 1:33.78 by Misericordia stood since 2011. King’s claimed silver with a time of 1:35.46, and Arcadia finished with bronze with a time of 1:36.70.
 
800-YARD FREESTYLE RELAY
Women
Messiah’s Britta Heath, Maelyn Elder, Brittany Pond and Nancie Ziegler won gold with a time of 7:50.21. Widener finished with silver with a time of 7:52.03, and Arcadia captured bronze with a time of 7:57.19.
 
Men
Arcadia’s TJ Dalton, Andrew Givone, Mark Preedy and Michael Melissen took gold with a time of 6:55.11. Albright finished in second for silver with a time of 6:58.10, and Widener claimed bronze with a time of 7:00.60. Widener’s Martin Bohdan led off the race with a 200-yard freestyle time of 1:40.80 to break the previous MAC Championship and overall MAC record time of 1:41.40 set last year by Messiah’s Drew Wolfe.
