Falcons Capture Sixth Consecutive Women’s Swimming Title

YORK, Pa. (Women’s Swimming) –
The Messiah Falcons won their sixth-straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) women’s swimming title. The Falcons collected 648 points with 11 gold medals, six silver medals and two bronze medals.
 
Widener finished second with 459 points and 10 total medals. Arcadia finished third with 392 points and five medals. Misericordia finished fourth with 351 points and two medals, and King’s took fifth with 322 points and five medals.
 
Messiah sophomore Kaylee Hollenbach was named the 2019 David B. Eavenson Award as the MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Year after recording 57 individual points.
 
Messiah freshman Nancie Ziegler was named the 2019 MAC Women’s Swimming Rookie of the Year after recording 57 individual points.
 
Stevenson’s John Stuhltrager was named the 2019 MAC Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year.
 
1,650-YARD FREESTYLE
FDU-Florham’s Molly Miller won gold with a time of 17:42.70 for the Devils first program individual title. Messiah’s Nancie Ziegler took silver with a time of 17:48.25, and Arcadia’s Megan Hupp, the two-time defending champion, claimed bronze with a time of 17:55.04.
 
200-YARD BACKSTROKE
Messiah’s Kaylee Hollenbach won gold for the second time in this event, this year with a time of 2:04.22. Stevenson’s Colby Stein took silver with a time of 2:04.97, and King’s Elizabeth Savidge won bronze with a time of 2:06.38.

100-YARD FREESTYLE
Messiah’s Cassie Cotton won gold with a time of 52.41 seconds. Widener’s Kaylin Augustine took silver with a time of 53.72 seconds, and the Falcons’ Emily Decker won bronze with a time of 54.29 seconds.
 
200-YARD BREASTSTROKE
King’s Kirsten Siwy won gold with a time of 2:24.48. Misericordia’s Grace Nikolski took silver with a time of 2:26.79, and Stevenson’s Jules Burnett took bronze with a time of 2:29.09.
 
200-YARD BUTTERFLY
Widener’s Jill Bujanowski won gold with a time of 2:06.85, just off the MAC record time of 2:06.55 that has stood since 1990. Widener’s Angelina Franceschini took silver with a time of 2:10.35, and Stevenson’s Izzy Ramsland won bronze with a time of 2:11.20.
 
400-YARD FREESTYLE RELAY
Messiah’s Cassie Cotton, Brittany Pond, Nancie Ziegler and Kaylee Hollenbach won gold with a time of 3:32.92. Widener took silver with a time of 3:38.32, and Arcadia won bronze with a time of 3:39.41.
