YORK, Pa. (Men’s Swimming) – The Albright Lions collected their 12th Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men’s Swimming title on Sunday. The Lions recorded 740 points with seven gold medals, seven silver medals and two bronze medals.
Widener finished in second with 543 points and 13 medals, while Arcadia took third with 435 points and 11 medals. King’s finished in fourth with 351.5 points and five medals. Messiah took fifth with 302 points and three medals.
Widener Aaron Green was named the 2019 David B. Eavenson Award winner as the MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Year after scoring 60 individual points. It is his third-straight conference swimmer of the year honor.
Messiah freshman Tyler Wilkinson was named the 2019 MAC Men’s Swimming Rookie of the Year after recording 49 individual points.
Albright’s Michael Hay was named the 2019 MAC Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year.
1,650-YARD FREESTYLE
King’s Christopher Soutter won gold with an NCAA Division III “B” cut time of 16:16.09. Albright’s Teag Culver won silver with a time of 16:27.56, and Hood’s Max Riedel won bronze with a time of 16:29.61.
200-YARD BACKSTROKE
Lycoming’s Callan Jordan won gold with a time of 1:52.44. Albright’s Bryce Schaffer took silver with a time of 1:52.98, and Messiah’s Tyler Wilkinson won bronze with a time of 1:55.92.
100-YARD FREESTYLE
Widener’s Aaron Green won gold for a third-straight season in the event, this year with an NCAA Division III “B” cut time of 45.05 seconds. The Pride’s Martin Bohdan took silver with a time of 46.63 seconds, and Misericordia’s Aidan Bergan won bronze with a time of 47.08 seconds.
200-YARD BREASTSTROKE
Arcadia’s TJ Dalton won gold in this event for the second-straight year, this year with a time of 2:05.18. The Knights’ Mark Preedy took silver with a time of 2:08.31, and Widener’s John Luksic won bronze with a time of 2:08.81.
200-YARD BUTTERFLY
Albright’s Bryce Schaffer won gold for the second-straight year in the event, this year with a time of 1:50.98. Widener’s Daniel Parker took silver with a time of 1:56.96, and Arcadia’s Andrew Givone won bronze with a time of 1:59.73.
400-YARD FREESTYLE RELAY
Widener’s Aaron Green, Timmy Dando, Daniel Parker and Martin Bohdan won gold with a time of 3:08.09. Green’s leadoff time of 44.74 seconds broke his own MAC Championship record time of 44.81 set last year, and is also an NCAA Division III B cut time. Albright took silver with a time of 3:09.41, and Arcadia won bronze with a time of 3:10.40.
