Junior catcher Johnny LoVetere started his year off with an impressive three games in Myrtle Beach, S.C. In the season opener LoVetere went 4-for-4 while driving in four runs in a high-scoring affair with Alma College. The next day he played the first end of a doubleheader against Manchester (Indiana) and continued his hot start with a 3-for-4 performance while collecting an RBI, the next day he went 2-for-4 with another RBI. LoVetere returns home with a .750 batting average heading into the home opener against Purchase on March 15.
