Elizabethtown goalie Rachael Waldman turned aside 12 shots in E-town's 12-7 upset of No. 7 Messiah Saturday. The win gave the Blue Jays their second conference title in school history, and the inaugural Commonwealth Conference Championship. After the game Waldman was named the tournament's most valuable player. Waldman stopped three shots in the first half and the Jays built a 7-1 lead. The highly talented Falcon offense tried to mount a comeback in the second half, but the Belmar, N.J. native would have none of it, denying nine more shots. The junior was equally impressive in Wednesday's semifinal win over Lebanon Valley, where the Jays held the Flying Dutchmen to their lowest goal total in a game this season. Saturday's game was the fifth this season in which Waldman has stopped 10 shots or more. The junior will lead Elizabethtown into the NCAA Division III Tournament, where it will face No. 5 TCNJ in Ewing, N.J., Wednesday at 3 p.m.
