Freshman Fred Fulton earned the Male Field Athlete of the Year at the MAC Outdoor Championships this week, thanks in large part to a tremendous performance in the men's Shot Put. Fulton collected a distance of 17.03 meters (55'10.5"), a record for the MAC Championships, Messiah College, and host Elizabethtown College. Fulton's throw is the ninth-best in NCAA Division III in 2012. He also took 2nd in the Discus (45.55 meters) behind teammate Trevor Stutzman.
