Rich Maerten led King's to the biggest upset of the season as last-place King's College posted a 24-7 victory over first-place Lycoming College. Maerten rushed for a career-best 121 yards on a career-high 26 carries while scoring two of the Monarchs three touchdowns on the day. His first score of the day, a seven-yard run, would give King's a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter. He would later add a 14-yard touchdown run that closed the door on the Warriors as King's stretched the lead to 24-7 with 13:15 left in the contest. Maerten also chipped in with one catch for seven yards. Maerten had 99 of his 121 yards in the second half, allowing King's to control the clock and maintain its lead throughout the contest.
