E-town junior Traci Tempone took third in Saturday's season-opening Galen Piper XC Challenge at Shippensburg University. The leader of the 20th-ranked Blue Jays got around the 4k course in 15:14, and was the top finishing Division III runner in an event that featured regionally-ranked Dickinson College. The only two runners to beat Tempone's time Saturday were Mary Dell, a three-time NCAA Division III All-American from Ship's Alumni team, and current Shippensburg runner Katie Spratford.
