Nick Kaijala was instrumental as King’s posted a stunning 21-14 overtime road upset of previous MAC co-leader Delaware Valley College. Kaijala had nine tackles in the game, including two tackles for loss and one quarterback sack. In addition he had one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. The fumble recovery came when Delaware Valley had possession at the King’s 45 yard line. The interception came two possessions later with the Aggies again at the Monarch 45. In overtime with King’s leading 21-14 and the Aggies looking to equal the score, Kaijala made tackles on first and second down to force a third-and-eight play which resulted in an incomplete pass. The Aggies then failed on a fourth-down attempt to end the game. The win snapped a nine-year losing streak to Delaware Valley and brought the Monarchs to four wins in a season for the first time since 2006.
