A returning NFCA All-Region choice and three-time All-Freedom selection, Harnischfeger led King's to a 6-2 season start on its Spring Break Trip to Myrtle Beach. As King'sleadoff hitter, she batted .391 (9-23) with a .826 slugging perecentage, including four doubles, two home runs, four RBI, and scored 13 runs in eight games. Harnischfege ralso drew nine walks to produce an outstanding .563 on-base average. Even in the two games she did not register a base hit, Harnischfeger still made a major impact as she drew three walks, stole two bases, and scored two runs in a 2-1 win over Iowa Wesleyan. She also drew two more walks, stole two more bases, and score two runs in a 13-8 win over LaRoche. The Lady Monarchs only losses came at the hands of NAIA scholarship Cardinal Stritch University. King's followed up with six straight wins after drpping a doubleheader to Stritch.
