Ernie Pitone (Widener / Jr. / Springfield, Pa.) shattered an 11 year-old school record at the Villanova Invitational on Saturday in the 3,000-meter race. Pitone finished fourth overall against Division I runners in a time of 8:19.72. His time broke the previous school record of 8:27.10 set by former Widener All-American Joe Francisco in 2005.
