Offensive Player of the Week
Zach Whitehead (King’s / Jr., QB / Hockessin, Del.) had a record-breaking performance to lead the Monarchs to a 41-28 win over Lycoming, their first-ever win at David Person Field in Williamsport in twelve tries. The junior was 30-for-46 passing with a school-record 421 yards. Whitehead accounted for three touchdowns, including one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns. He had 35 rushing yards. The junior had 19 completed passes for 10 or more yards in the game. Trailing 16-7 in the first half, Whitehead orchestrated back-to-back scoring drives of 74 yards. The final scoring drive of the first half came with 58 seconds remaining in the second quarter to give King’s a 20-16, which they never lost. Whitehead led the Monarchs to back-to-back touchdown drives in the second half to extend their lead to 34-16.
