MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week
Hannah Roland (Messiah / Jr., D / Fleetwood, Pa.) was a big factor in No. 8 Messiah’s defensive play in upset wins over No. 4 Ursinus (W, 4-1) and No. 7 Salisbury (W, 3-2). Roland anchored the defense that allowed just three goals over two game against top-7 national ranked teams. The junior made multiple stops against Ursinus on odd-man rushes to hold the fourth-ranked team to just one goal. Roland also made a huge late tackle on a 1-on-1 play to protect the 3-2 win over Salisbury. She also helped stop Salisbury on a game-ending penalty corner with no time on the clock.
