MAC Men’s Runner of the Week
Ernie Pitone (Widener / Sr. / Springfield, Pa.) led No. 28 Widener at the Main Line Invitational hosted by Haverford. Competing against a field of Division I runners from Villanova, Penn and La Salle, Pitone finished second overall among 92 runners and was the top Division III runner to cross the line in the four-mile circuit. The senior completed the race in a time of 19:23.30, nearly 39 seconds faster than the second Division III runner from No. 16 Haverford. Pitone’s time was just two second off (19:21.3) off the individual champion from Villanova.
