MAC Women’s Runner of the Week
Veronica Wheeler (DeSales / Jr. / Yardley, Pa.) won her first individual conference title on Saturday, placing first at the MAC Championships in a time of 22:21.8. Wheeler’s time was 22 seconds faster than the second-place finisher to earn MAC Runner of the Year honors. The junior first second a year ago, and third in her freshman campaign to improve one spot each season. Wheeler is now a three-time All-MAC First Team honoree, and the first DeSales individual champion since 2005. She also led DeSales to its first-ever women’s cross country conference team title.
