MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Ian Gaynor (Widener / Sr. / Donegal, Ireland.) earns his second conference weekly award of the season. Gaynor swam two NCAA provisional times in a quad meet with FDU-Florham, Hood and Messiah in Frederick. Gaynor won the 50-yard freestyle even in a time of 20.25 seconds, which is well under the NCAA B cut time of 20.70. The senior was also part of two winning-relay teams. Gaynor swam leadoff in the 200-yard freestyle winning team, swimming the first 50-yards in a time of 20.18 seconds for a second, and better, NCAA provisional time. The relay team finished in a time of 1:25.84, which is now the fastest conference time by five seconds. The senior then anchored the winning 200-yard medley relay team to a time of 1:39.04, which is second in the conference to their own best time of 1:37.23.
