MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Sam Light (Lebanon Valley / Jr. / G / Jonestown, Pa.) had a big week for the Dutchmen in a 2-1 week averaging 27 points per game while shooting 50-percent (27-of-54) from the field, 47-percent (8-of-17) from behind the arc and 95-percent (19-of-20) from the charity stripe. Light scored a game-high 19 points in the season-opening road loss to Division I George Mason—a game LVC led by 10 at the half. The junior then scored a game-high 36 points while shooting 13-of-21 from the field and 4-of-5 from behind the arc in an 85-70 win over PSU-Mont Alto to open their Rinso Marquette Tournament. Light then led the Dutchmen to the tournament crown with 26 points in a 58-53 win over Wesley. He added 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals over the opening week. Light was named the Rinso Marquette Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP).
