Emily Lavin (Eastern / Sr. / F / Monmouth, N.J.) earned Most Outstanding Player honors as the Eagles won the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic title hosted by York (Pa.). The senior averaged 18.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and three blocks per game in a 3-0 week. Lavin shot 62-percent (21-of-34) from the field while recording two double-doubles at the tournament. In the season-opening 59-53 win over Cabrini, Lavin scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while pulling down six rebounds and tallying two assists and a steal. In the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic opener, the senior recorded 16 points with 12 rebounds, five blocks, two assists and two steals in a 74-69 win over Arcadia. In the title game, Lavin scored 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting with 11 rebounds, four blocks and a steal in a 64-51 win over host York (Pa.).
