MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Sardayah Sambo (Widener / Jr. / G / Middletown, Del.) earns his second conference weekly award of the season. He led Widener to a 2-0 week in conference action, including a 72-70 road win over first-place Lycoming, while averaging 14 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and three assists per game and shooting better than 50 percent. Sambo capped the week with a double-double scoring 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting, grabbing 10 rebounds, blocking six shots and recording four assists in the upset road victory over Lycoming. Sambo recorded Widener’s final three points from the charity stripe to hold on to the win. The junior recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals in a win over Valley Forge to begin the week.
