MAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Ernie Pitone (Widener / Sr. / Springfield, Pa.) repeats and earns his second conference weekly award of the season. Pitone won the mile run at Haverford’s Seamus McElligot Invitational with a school record time of 4:11.08. The previous record of 4:11.20 was set in 2007. The senior’s time ranks No. 1 in the MAC and No. 4 in NCAA Division III, just three seconds from the leader. Pitone won the race by more than five seconds over the next competitor.
