MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Nicole Burt (Widener / Sr., OF-2B / Staten Island, N.Y.) was named the MAC Commonwealth Championship MVP after leading Widener to its first-ever conference title in softball. In the bottom of the sixth-inning, tied 3-3 with two on and two out, Burt singled up the middle to score the eventual game-winning run in the title game. It was just one of two hits for Burt all weekend, but it was the most important one of the season as it clinched Widener’s first-ever conference title and a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship.
