Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Powell (Widener / Jr., CB / Morristown, N.J.) came up big for the Pride’s defense by scoring two defensive touchdowns in a 49-7 win over FDU-Florham in the conference opener. In total, Powell recorded seven tackles (five solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, two pass breakups and an interception. Both of the junior’s touchdowns came in the third quarter. The first coming when he strip-sacked the quarterback and scooped and scored on an 18-yard return. With FDU-Florham driving, Powell jumped a route on the goal line and raced 100 yards for his second touchdown in less than 10 minutes.
