MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Jared Byrne (Wilkes / Fr. / Pequea, Pa.) led the Colonels in the season opener against William Paterson with two individual victories and a relay victory. Byrne won both the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events. The freshman become the first Colonel so swim a sub-50 second time in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.86 seconds. He currently has the fastest time in the conference. Byrne won the 200-yard freestyle with a new program-record time of 1:50.63. He anchored the winning 200-yard medley relay team that finished in a time of 1:45.59.
