MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week
Amanda Adams (Messiah / Jr. / Cinnaminson, N.J.) was the sole MAC Commonwealth and non-Wilkes University player to claim a title at the 2017 MAC Women’s Tennis Individual Championship this past weekend. Adams, who is the first non-Wilkes player to win a conference title at the individual tournament since 2014, captured the No. 5 Singles title on Sunday. The junior defeated DeSales’ Kelsey Kazlauskas (6-0, 6-0), Misericordia’s Samantha Kropa (6-0, 6-1) and Wilkes’ top-seeded Brittany Stanton (3-6, 6-3, 10-7) in respective order. Adams also competed in the No. 2 Doubles flight with Emily Wichert. The duo won two matches over Arcadia (8-5) and DeSales (8-4) before falling to the eventual champion team from Wilkes in the semifinal round.
