MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Caroline Shelby (Eastern / Fr., OH / Lititz, Pa.) earns her second conference weekly award of the season after being named the MAC Freedom Women’s Volleyball Championship MVP on Saturday. Shelby had a monster performance in both the semifinal round and the championship match to lead Eastern to their 10th-straight conference title since joining the MAC Freedom in 2008. Shelby recorded a match-high 27 kills with just two errors to hit .556 in the 3-1 win over DeSales for the title. She added 12 digs, a block and a service ace for a double-double. In the 3-0 semifinal win over FDU-Florham, the freshman had a match-high 20 kills and just one error to hit .576. Shelby also had eight digs, four blocks and a service ace in the semifinal. She finished the week with 6.71 kills per set, .564 hitting percentage, 2.86 digs per set, 0.71 blocks per set and 7.36 points per set.
