Alex Tuci (Manhattanville / Sr., F / New Rochelle, N.Y.) opened the season with three-straight double-doubles, a 3-0 team record and MVP honors at the AJ Buchanan Classic. Tuci averaged 15 points and 14.3 rebounds over three games. The senior opened the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds, including 11 defensive rebounds, in a 74-70 win over St. Joseph’s-L.I. In the AJ Buchanan Classic opener, Tuci recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds in a 62-60 win over William Paterson. More impressively, Tuci scored the go-ahead basket with 5.1 seconds remaining. He capped the week with 17 points and 16 rebounds in the 69-63 title-game win over Western Connecticut State.
