MAC Wrestler of the Week
Trevor Corl (Lycoming / Jr. / 149 / Bellefonte, Pa.) dominated on his way to the 149 lbs. title as the No. 4 seed at the RIT Invitational. He accounted for 23 of Lycoming’s 79 team points in the tournament, finishing with two technical falls and two pins over five bouts. The lone match he didn’t get bonus points in, he posted a takedown in sudden-victory minute to give him a 3-1 win over Wesleyan’s seventh-ranked Carter Armendarez in the semifinal. Corl opened with a 19-0 technical fall against Norwich’s Shane Ryan before posting a 40-second pin of Scranton’s T.J. Conlon. He then earned a 19-3 win over RIT’s Zarek Thomas in the quarterfinal round. In the championship bout, Corl pinned RIT’s Zach Stedeford in 1:25. Corl is now 17-1 this season.
