MAC Wrestler of the Week
Jeff Hojnacki (Messiah / Sr. / 165 / Hudson, Ohio) collected two big wins to help No. 5 Messiah earn two dual victories in a span of 18 hours last weekend. On Friday at Gettysburg, the seventh-ranked 165 lbs. wrestler, Hojnacki, matched up with No. 5 Colin Kowalski in what proved to be the must-watch bout of the night. Hojnacki avenged a 5-4 loss to Kowalsi just last week at the Messiah Petrofes Championship with a thrilling 7-6 decision. Friday’s win was sealed with a takedown with just over 30 seconds on the clock. The senior followed that with a fall on Saturday against King’s Josh Nagel. His strong weekend pushed his season record to 15-4 with seven pins.
