MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Zach Brunner (Wilkes / Sr., F / Mechanicsburg, Pa.) played an important role in leading the Colonels to a 2-0 week in conference play after trailing at halftime in both contests. Brunner finished the week averaging 14 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and shooting 67 percent from the field and 86 percent from the charity stripe. Brunner scored 11 points with six rebounds and an assist in a 72-66 win over DeSales. After trailing 29-25 at the break, the senior led the Colonels with eight of his 11 points in the second half. More impressively, Brunner scored all 17 of his points and recorded nine of his 11 rebounds in the second half in a comeback win over King’s. He finished the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in the 76-64 victory.
