MAC Freedom Player of the Week
Courtney Murphy (Wilkes / Jr. / Bronx, N.Y.) earns his third conference weekly award of the 2017-18 season, first in the spring. Murphy went 5-1 at No. 1 singles play and 3-1 in No. 1 doubles action in a 4-2 week for the Colonels. The junior teamed with Jon White for a 8-0 doubles win over Nebraska Wesleyan, and then won his singles match 6-2, 7-5. The duo won their doubles match against St. John Fisher 8-3, and then Murphy took his singles match by a 6-3, 6-4 decision. Against Methodist, he won doubles 8-1 and then his singles match 6-2, 7-5 over Methodist’s RJ Clement. Murphy finished the week with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Catholic’s. Jan Lasota.
