MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week
Bella Marchiselli (Manhattanville / So., GK / Williston Park, N.Y.) backstopped the Valiants to a pair of victories last week with a .560 save percentage. Marchiselli made 28 saves on 61 shots faced while also collecting eight ground balls and caused one turnover. The sophomore made 10 saves on 23 shots, collected eight ground balls and caused one turnover in a 20-10 win at Rutgers-Camden to begin the week. On Saturday, she turned aside a career-best 18 shots (38 faced) in a 13-12 overtime win at King’s. At King’s, 11 of her 18 saves came in the second half, including a free position save in the final minute of regulation to keep the game tied. That was one of the eight shots she saved from the eight-meter arc in the contest.
